Cane Creek S-3 Headset Black

The Cane Creek S-3 headset is made from cnc-machined 6061 aluminium and houses precision "bearing steel" cartridge bearings with an overhanging cup/cover design, which keeps contaminants from reaching the bearings.

This overhanging "treacherous path" feature is repeated with the lower cup/crown race.

All Cane Creek headsets, including the S-3, feature design details such as an undercut transition and stepped insertion for ease of assembly into frames; and are compatible with Cane Creek Interlok spacers.

The bearings in the S-3 are cheaper than those in the Solos but Cane Creek has included extra rubber sealing along with its overhanging cup/cover design. The S-3's 6061 cups also insert further into the head tube than those of the Solos and both have an 'undercut transition' - a small groove cut into the shoulder of both cups.
In conclusion...
The S-3 only has a nominal warranty but the finish, bearing quality and sealing is first class for a sub-£30 headset. This is the best budget headset on test.
